Contracted to MPA Construction and Engineering Services, a world renowned Building Pathology consultancy, Lamb & Partners investigated the cause of water ingress into the front elevation ground floor apartments from the 1st floor as well as many other water penetration issues on all floors throughout the premises, which houses 212 apartments. After many months of investigation the cause was traced back to a number of design anomalies and parts failures, which having been identified were able to be resolved by replacement of the offending equipment and replacement of damaged parts. This work was carried out on behalf of the headline insurers of the building and involved many complex issues, which extended beyond the insurance claims themselves and involved investigations in over 100 private apartments throughout the occupied premises at all hours of the day and night. Having identified the cause and arrested it, major drying out works had to be specified and instigated, in order to allow the building to dry out after 4 years of constant water penetration.
